Cryonics is the industry of hope — and its lobby must instill absolute confidence that the company will endure for centuries. Reception Space designs cryo-centre vestibules using Sublime Cold aesthetics: satin-finished acrylic, frosted glass, absolute acoustic silence, and precision lighting that suspends the perception of time.

Ice and Light: Cold Materials
The frost effect is achieved through 12–18 mm satin-finished acrylic panels combined with gradient-sandblasted glass. Lighting at 6500K with a cyan tint creates a palpable sensation of coolness even at a maintained +22°C. The lighting scheme includes concealed LED strips in ceiling recesses and edge-lit glass panels.
The reception desk is designed as a glowing block of ice — a monolithic cast-acrylic structure with internal RGB illumination. The metaphor of stopping time is reinforced by the complete absence of visible seams and fixings. A desk of this calibre costs from €8,500 for a 2400 mm unit.
An additional technique involves integrating actual cryogenic pipework into the lobby décor. Real cooling behind glass creates a condensation effect that cannot be faked, letting visitors physically sense the proximity of the technology.
Capsule Aesthetics
Cylindrical furniture forms echo cryo-capsules (Dewar vessels). Every element — armchairs, side tables, information stands — features no sharp angles. A continuous arc with a minimum radius of 300 mm sets the spatial rhythm and subconsciously signals safety and continuity.
Seamless white Corian (12 mm) and high-gloss epoxy self-levelling floors create the effect of walking on still water. Reflections blur the boundary between floor and wall, producing a space that feels outside of time. Lead time for capsule-style furniture is 8–10 weeks.

Acoustics of Peace
Absolute sound insulation with an NRC of 0.95 makes a visitor's own heartbeat audible. Perlite-based acoustic plaster applied at 25–30 mm thickness and concealed mineral-wool panels (80 kg/m³) behind decorative screens eliminate virtually all ambient noise.
The resulting silence underscores the gravity of the decision. In consultation zones, directional sound panels ensure speech privacy without additional partitions. The full acoustic engineering package starts from €3,000.
Living Elements
The design follows an 80/20 balance: 80% sterile precision, 20% life. Vertical gardens of preserved moss and succulents set against white walls remind visitors of the procedure's ultimate goal — a return to life. Green zones feature automatic irrigation and 4000K phyto-lighting.
Living plants also serve a practical function, stabilising indoor humidity at 45–55%, which is critical for respiratory comfort during consultations. Budget for greening a 60 m² lobby starts from €1,800 including auto-irrigation systems.
Wayfinding and Branding
The wayfinding system relies on pulsating floor light-lines that guide visitors from the entrance to the reception desk and onward to waiting areas. The company logo is laser-engraved into an edge-lit acrylic panel — symbolising precision and technological mastery.
All information carriers are architecture-integrated: digital displays sit behind frosted glass, and tactile indicators in 304 stainless steel cater to visitors with accessibility needs. A fully realised cryo-lobby of 80–120 m² starts from €250,000.
